I want to be a mom someday...

But not just any mom.

I want to be a mom who dances to Regina Spektor in the kitchen.

I want to be a mom who tromps through the woods with her kids, goes biking and running with them, and plays Red light Green light with them. And of course, wade in the creek with them.

I want to be a mom who wears old t-shirts and jeans while doing something crazily artistic with her kids, but can just as easily dress up in her finest and have an evening out.

I want to be a mom who plays fashion show and teaparty with her daughters, and plays cowboys and indians with her sons (and daughters of course).

I want to be a mom who makes homemade donuts, decorates her kids' birthday cakes, and gives them lavender before bed.

I want to be a mom who only wears shoes when absolutely necessary. And always flats. Never heels.

I want to be a mom who is as much her children's friend as she is their mother.

Most of all, I want to be a mom who is so excited and passionate about God and what He's done, that her kids can't help but be excited and passionate too.

I know I won't ever be exactly what I want to be -- but that's my dream. And God is not against big dreams. So I'll keep dreaming, and trusting His amazing plan.

  2. I am inspired to write my own blog about this... only, until my red high heels (that all your little brothers hated : P) fall apart, I will wear them occasionally. : )

  3. hahaha... that's ok -- your high heels are great for you! And if I married someone super tall, I might wear heels for fun once in a while. :)
