what do you believe?

The heat spreads and
I hold my cold hands
out to the fire of you.
The wind is too strong for me
to face alone.
It screams, what do you
believe?
How can you trust something that hurts
so much?


But I believe that God gives us empty spaces
so that they can be filled.
I believe that He gives us hope
when everything feels hopeless.
I believe that peace is most powerful
when it is peace that passes all understanding.
I believe that whatever sorrow shakes from
your heart, far better things will take their place.
I believe everything will be okay in the end.
I believe the pieces of the puzzle
will fit together in the end
and nothing will be missing.
I believe that Jesus takes away
just so we can receive more of Him.
And I believe that He is worth it.

And I still believe,
after all the joy I've had to leave behind,
that the best is yet to come.
