...you get to go find a new dream.
It is a dangerous business, this dream chasing. You never know where you're going to end up. You will fly high for a while but chances are you are going to come back down sooner than you like, and harder than you expect. Those long nights after you fall are hard. I wish I could tell you that your next dream will be one that comes true. I wish I could tell you that you're not going to dream a hundred more dreams only to watch them die.
But He doesn't always give us dreams that come true. Sometimes He gives us dreams just to hold us for a while, even if you didn't realize you needed hope, it comes with the dream, and even when it hurts you more after the dream dies, well, still, it held you for a long time and sometimes you just needed hope. And sometimes He gives you dreams just to let you know He's there when you fall. I think we need that sometimes too. A lot of times, really. To know He's more important than the dreams coming true.
It would be a lot easier if you just wouldn't dream anymore, you know? When the end of dreams hurt so, and you have no idea how many dreams will come and go before one comes true, you know, you just want to shield yourself from the pain.
But He is here to walk through the pain with you, and give you a new dream, if you let Him. When you're ready. I don't think you're ready yet. But when you are... well, He's ready too.
