Hopelessly dreaming

of a love long since lost.

Faithfully pleading

for life beyond cost.

Broken and bleeding

from the pains of tomorrow

Seemingly unaware of

today’s triumphs and sorrows.

A shattered looking glass

reflects with dusty shards

the torn memories imprinted

the cutting of cords.

A life no longer living

a death no longer died

A passion unforgiving

a new taste never tried.

Hope that springs eternal

doesn’t seem to enter here

Perhaps all life’s new places

are lost because of fear.

Hidden in the balance

is a world without excuse

Pointless trying to forget

Only tightens up the noose.

Realization of a life now passing

can’t turn back the wasted years

Forgetting deeds of shame

won’t always hide your hidden tears.

Sighing won’t change the past

Dreaming can’t rewrite the page

Trusting changes future’s outlook

Commitment clears life’s dead stage.

Then the broken heart will heal

Sorrows become eternal bliss

Then the life that died will rise

Never missing grace’s eclipse.
