The things we know best...

How do you explain to someone how it feels to be found...
if they have never felt lost?

How do you tell someone how awful it is to be lost...
if all they have ever been is found?

How do you tell someone to be brave...
if they have never been afraid?

How do you explain to someone what it's like to be scared...
if all their life they've been brave?

How do you describe light to someone...
if they have never seen darkness?

How do you explain what darkness is like...
if they have have never experienced light?

How do you tell someone what it means to hate...
if all they have ever seen is love?

And how do you tell someone what it means to love...
if all they've ever known is hate?

Sometimes the things that we know best...
the things 'closest to home'...
are the things we most often forget.

  2. Excellent thoughts! We are often faced with two decisions - becoming better about which path God has sent us down, or using our experiences to minister to others. There is a purpose for everything in our lives, how ever painful the circumstances, and I think sometime God takes us through darkness so that we can minister to others that end up going through the same thing.
