I decided with the New Year, a new blog design was in order. I think I like this one the best so far, but no doubt I shall change it sooner or later, because I always love something new.
Also in light of the New Year, here is something the pastor on Sunday said:

"Don't you see it's possible to begin anew?
Don't you see God is a God of mercy?
He can take away every past sin you have done,
Washing it away by the blood of his Son."

I don't know if he intended it to rhyme, but it came out very nicely. I really needed it. Something I should never forget but I tend to. I have been praying that two thousand and eleven will be a year of losing myself completely in God and giving myself up to others. I haven't figured out what exactly what that means for each day, and each week, but I know it will be hard. So I'm praying for grace. A life of selflessness -- that's what my real goal is -- it seems hopeless, but nothing is impossible with God.

I realized the other day, in a way I'd never thought about before, just exactly why we have absolutely no right to be selfish and do things only for ourselves. It's because we 'are not our own; we are bought with a price'. If we don't belong to ourselves, how can we claim a right to please ourselves?
