Almost Ready

I am almost ready.

Almost ready to disregard all foolish thoughts of care,

and throw caution completely to the wind,

and live the wild unrestrained life of complete and utter dependance 

on the One who knows best.

Right now, 

as I dangle right above it,

this water so deep, and so clear, and so soothing,

once I'm in it,

I can't immediately leave every fear behind.

The last shred of disbelief in my heart holds me still,

waiting,

still waiting,

almost touching,

but still scared.

I won't be ready without you, dearest Friend.

Be here to take the dive with me?

Hold me as we jump?

Then I can bear it.

Just so long as you are with me.
