i haven't given up yet

we sat together in silence for a long Time and
it was even longer before you left.

i sat Alone and thought about what Empty feels like
and how Darkness is absence of Light and when nothing
is There
it is even worse than something bad being There.

we knew we could either run into the hurt
or run entirely away from it
and we knew running away from it would do nothing but haunt us
with sorrowful Memories.

we took separate Paths,
you and i,
and the Light at the end of our Tunnels
is hard to see from this far Away.

but i haven't given up yet.
and Something tells me the End is nearer than we can Imagine.
and that the End is really just the Beginning.
