a wish perhaps,
and not a prayer:
i want to be the girl who smiles
even when her heart is broken.
but He answers prayers we don't even think to pray.
i guess i just expected the answer to that prayer
to be smiles that never left.
i didn't expect the answer to be
having my heart broken.

He has not forgotten my name for it is
not just written in the Book of Life
but on the palms of His Hands.
He will bring me out of my suffering.
I won't be like this forever."]
